The weekend was just what the rooster and I needed, a laid back, put your feet up weekend. Can't get to tired before we leave.

Testing our traveling legs...
Today we're heading to the Kingston peninsula in NB. One of friends has a lovely cottage on the St. John River, a beautiful spot. Although this year she is not traveling with us. We were up early this morning to head out, and now are sitting in a lineup for the ferry to cross over to peninsula. 15 minute wait. On of the cars ahead of us zoomed past us earlier just to sit in front of in the line. An energetic lady swings by with hot coffee one can bye, the rooster jumps at this opportunity. Nothing like a hot coffee in a hot car sitting in a line up; I passes.

20 more sleeps
When one has a date to work towards, the time either goes fast or slows down. For myself the time seems to have sped up, so many things to finish before we leave for Europe. After our trip I am having an art show during the local fibre festival, featuring my silk paintings. Selling my paintings during the summer has had me scrambling to finish more pieces for the show. It seems the more work one has the less time one has. Below is one of the paintings which was inspired from a previous trip to the Netherlands in 2012. One of the windmills on a canel at the Unesco sight on Kinderdijk.

The countdown is on
It is so exciting to be traveling back to my favourite vacation spot… The Netherlands. Traveling with two other ladies, the hens, seasoned travellers in their own right. The forth, my husband the Rooster. we have traveled together before and had a wonderful time exploring the country side of Holland on our bikes. This is no packaged deal, we put our trips together on our own. We research the places, find the roots we need to take and read maps. Yes map reading can come in handy, as long as you know which side is up. On one of our trips one of the hens was quite insistent that the city map of Delf was printed backwards; the signs weren't correct either. All part of traveling and exploring the wonderful cities and country sides of Holland.
But first we have to get there and the count down is on…
